Pitch #1 .... The quickest way to get the best results is by planning a complete hitting program. This program includes lessons and a cage membership to get plenty of swings to work on the hitting mechanics taught during a lesson. This does require a commitment from the player as well as the parent.
Pitch #2 .... Doing lessons and not getting a good amount of swings beyond the lesson time does not mean taking lessons are a waste of time. It just means it will take longer to achieve premium results without the extra batting cage time.
Pitch #3 .... Players (13 and older) who now are seeing curve-balls thrown at them in a game have entered the realm of baseball that causes many kids to eventually quit. You may have good hitting mechanics and still not be able to hit the curve, slider, or change-up! Players need to see many curves and other off-speed pitches in a BP setting in order to recognize the type pitch a pitcher is throwing in a game. Great hitting mechanics do not help you recognize a pitch, no more than great eyesight helps you have great hitting mechanics. Line Drives pitching machines throws all types of pitches that players see in a game, thus older players will greatly benefit from a membership with lessons.
Pitch #4 ..... Young players need to develop their eye/hand coordination in order to become better hitters. This is why some kids are better than others in all younger age groups. The best way for younger kids to get better quicker is through repetition ...... swing at baseballs being thrown toward them .... and do it as much as possible. Even if their mechanics are not good, the eye/hand coordination will still improve greatly.
So if you want results, and want them sooner rather than later, a complete program of lessons and batting cage time will always lead to good things. Our lessons provide proven hitting drills that help all ages develop sound hitting mechanics, and it does not take forever to accomplish this. Plus our drills ... and instructors .... are fun! All our instructors love to see all their students succeed and have fun playing baseball. Many of our current students and members are currently playing pro baseball, college, and/or are playing at a local high school, travel team, or rec league field right now.
